DS & DURGA is perfumer-designer owned fragrance brand based in NEW YORK CITY, created by husband and wife duo - David Seth (DS) and Kavi (DURGA) Moltz in 2008. David, a musician and self-taught perfumer is the nose of the brand and Kavi, a trained architect, is the designer of the DS & DURGA universe.

The Role

We are looking for a highly energetic, fragrance-obsessed, and experienced sales expert to fill our Sales Lead role and drive customer growth at our Abbot Kinney flagship location in Venice California.

The ideal candidate is not only a powerhouse at providing world class customer service and driving sales in store but has the comfort level and ability to cultivate and grow a customer following through outreach and prospecting efforts outside of our four walls.

The Sales Lead will support the store manager in achieving and exceeding fiscal results through field marketing, events, partnership building, clienteling and other unique sales initiatives as needed.

This is a hands-on selling position and the ability and desire to spend time on the sales floor working with clients, conducting outreach and prospecting is essential to the success of the role.

Responsibilities

Provide an exceptional in-store customer service experience by assisting customers and exceeding their needs.

Work to meet and exceed sales goals through in-store efforts and outreach including clienteling, eventing, and networking activities.

Own customer outreach and clienteling, build loyalty and repeat business.

Initiate and execute prospecting efforts to attract new clients and develop a customer following.

Create and maintain strategic local brand partnership opportunities to attract new customers and develop brand awareness.

Plan and execute sales focused, on brand events in store, and within the community.

Handle all VIP client communication and provide an exceptional brand experience.

Lead and train the store sales team, demonstrate expert-level product and brand knowledge alongside selling techniques.

Support the Store Manager in running daily operations of the business and holding the team accountable to daily sales targets.

Help oversee daily operations such as inventory management, reconciling cash and managing in store marketing as needed.

Help create and foster a happy, energetic, and positive store culture.

Qualifications

5+ years of luxury retail or hospitality sales experience, preferably within fragrance or beauty.

Excellent selling, clienteling, and client prospecting skills, existing client book preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience and comfort level with conducting client outreach and local prospecting.

Experience with event planning and handling of VIP clients.

Experience working with and building retail partnerships.

Demonstrated ability in driving sales and developing a client base.

Ability to work in a fragranced work place/ store, must love fragrance.

Experience with Shopify POS and Endear is a plus.

Desire and ability to work a flexible retail schedule; including weekends, some holidays and evenings.
